And best of all: the high-quality 18/20V battery is compatible with machines from other leading manufacturers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

18 V and 20 V generally refer to the same battery: 18 V is the nominal voltage during operation, and 20 V is the maximum voltage directly after charging. Some manufacturers advertise with one value, some with the other - technically, the same cell configuration is behind it. More important than this number are the capacity in amp-hours (Ah), the quality of the cells, and the machine's motor.

Yes, the high-quality Holzprofi 18/20V battery is compatible with machines from other leading manufacturers (e.g., Makita 18V). This means you can continue to use existing batteries or use the affordable Holzprofi batteries (2 Ah starting from €19.90) with your existing devices – saving you from having to maintain a separate, expensive battery system for each device. We'll be happy to tell you which systems are specifically compatible upon request.

Brushless motors operate without wearing carbon brushes: they are more efficient (longer runtime per battery charge), more powerful, more compact, and practically maintenance-free – a significant advantage over the lifetime of the machine. In the development of the Holzprofi Maker cordless tools, we deliberately opted for brushless motors and metal gears so that the machines can withstand daily workshop use in the long term.

The amp-hours determine the runtime: A 5 Ah battery lasts around two and a half times as long as a 2 Ah battery, but it is also heavier. Rule of thumb: For light tools and overhead work (multi-tool, branch cutters), the light 2 Ah battery is pleasant, for power-hungry tools like angle grinders and impact wrenches, you are better off with 4 or 5 Ah. A twin pack is ideal: One battery works, one charges, so there are no forced breaks.

Store batteries in a cool and dry place (ideally 10 to 20 degrees Celsius) and, for longer breaks, with about half a charge – storing them fully charged or deeply discharged shortens their lifespan. Avoid temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius (do not leave them in a car in summer), only charge them after they have reached room temperature if they have been exposed to frost, and only use appropriate chargers. A damaged or swollen battery should no longer be used but professionally disposed of. You can drop off old batteries with us and at all collection points free of charge.

The same rules apply as with corded machines: safety glasses (for angle grinders, also hearing protection and possibly protective gloves), secure the workpiece, and only put the machine down when it has stopped. Specific to cordless tools: remove the battery when changing tools and making adjustments – otherwise the machine could start unintentionally, as there is no power plug to pull.

If your cordless power tool breaks down, Holzprofi is the right place for you: replacement batteries, chargers, and wearing parts are available from stock, and our service team will quickly assist you with complaints and repairs.
